Our Legislative Journey: Current Status of the CARE Acts
Legislative progress can be a steady, deliberate process. This section provides a brief overview of where the Colorado CARE Act and Federal CARE Act stand in their journey through the legislative system.
- Colorado CARE Act Status: The Colorado Caregiver Accommodation and Rights Expansion (CARE) Act is currently being prepared for introduction into the 2026 Legislative pipeline. While not yet formally in committee or up for a vote, we are actively building support. Our efforts include coordinating with other non-profits, both locally and nationally, to help gather more support and voices willing to testify to legislative committees during the next legislative calendar (January 2026 - May 2026). This is also in preparation for the crucial November 3, 2026 Election where Colorado voters will decide on the TABOR exemption for the Family Caregiver Support Fund.
